How does mentoring improve health ?

Our statistics for 2022-23 show that over 70% of the people we mentored made a definable step to improve their health.  What does this mean in practice?

4 people made and kept a health related appointment
4 people sought help with their mental health
2 people made dental appointments
3 people sought help for drink problems
4 people took more exercise and improved their eating habits
1 person registered with a G.P.
1 person got a hearing aid
1 person got treatment for cataracts.
The amount of health-related activity this year was particularly high.  This may have been an after-effect of the Covid pandemic when appointments were not available.  Regular meetings with a mentor will provide a reminder of appointments that need to be made.

Some people may need support and encouragement to contact services, especially if they feel uncomfortable with computers and the internet.

If you think you know someone who would benefit from mentoring contact Banesa on [email protected] or ring 07842 612979 to discuss.
