Dear Friend,

Welcome to our Bridging the Gap Mentoring  Newsletter . Explaining how we help people through effective mentoring.

Good News – this month

Vera got fuel vouchers to help with the rising costs of living.
Her mentor is helping her to claim the benefits which she is entitled to.

We are very grateful to  Islington Council’s Community Chest: funded by Islington Council, in partnership with the Cripplegate Foundation which has given us a grant of £4,775.

Our  mentors  have a diverse range of skills and backgrounds. So they can be individually matched with clients. Many do a number of partnerships, often taking a break and then returning.  All bring passion and commitment to work with and empower our clients.

They include university students, young professionals and people with established careers and home lives.

Their work experience includes  solicitor, artist, lifeguard, PR, barista , photographer, teacher, communications, architect , administration, economist , scientist, retail and music sector.

Many bring previous volunteering experience including in community projects such as food banks, women’s shelters , care leavers projects and Crisis at Christmas,

Our mentors come from a range of nationalities and speak a number of languages including Romanian, Italian, Spanish, Bulgarian, Greek, English, Serbian , German, Portuguese , Albanian, Swedish, Finnish , Thai,  Bengali and  French .

They have a range of interests , which helps us match them to clients with similar interests.

Some are interested in fitness, playing and watching sports . Some enjoy reading, cooking  and music. Others the arts such as museums, theatre, cinema and galleries . Some are creative and  like drawing, painting, photography  and playing music.
